 BCT MEMBERSHIP | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As announced on the General Assembly, the annual membership fee will be kept at 500 baht per family and the validity of this year’s registration will last for 15 months, i.e. until the end of August 2010! From then onwards, the annual membership will run from September till August. You can register at any BCT activity by completing the membership form available with any of the BCT committee members. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

 New BCT Committee, new wind through the organization and the perfect time to introduce a change in logo. Please post your ideas, suggestions, creations, works of art here : news@belgianclub-th.comLooking forward to your input ! A top 5 will be shortlisted and the winner will be revealed at the 18 September Get Together. As a reward, the top 5 logo ‘creators’ will receive Belgian beers.

Summer holidays outside Thailand for some of you and summer holidays in Thailand for others. It doesn’t mean that the BCT is on vacation too, a number of activities are planned over the next couple of months and we hope to see you, your family, friends and visitors at either one of these activities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The next BCT get together is scheduled on Friday 17 July at DET 5. As such everyone is cordially invited. Don’t hesitate to already pencil down the August get together in your calendar. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| THAI COOKING CLASS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
We are organizing the Helping Hands Thai cooking class on Saturday 29 August 2009 in the afternoon.Those cooking classes are an employment initiative from the Klong Toey Community.Our patronage will assist in the support of women and children within this community.You will learn how to prepare Tom Yum Kai, Pat Thai, Larb Phet and Khao Tom Mut the traditional way. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW BCT YEAR | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The official opening of the new BCT year will take place on 18 September 2009 and will be a 3 hour dinner cruise on the Chao Praya River. The cruise boat departs from Yok Yor berthing facilities, opposite the River City complex, to sail first upstream, until the Rama VIII bridge before turning downstream until "Saphan Sathorn", i.e. the Sathorn bridge and then sails back to Yok Yor berthing facilities. Bilingual comments are made on the boat internal addressing system (speakers) about the significant features and buildings to be seen on both sides of the boat. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
 When ? 18 September Where ? The boat sails at 8 PM sharp Yok Yor Boat Cost ? As from 7.30 PM a special shuttle will take us to the main boat BTS : Saphan Taksin, take exit 1 600 THB, excluding drinks Register ? Many of you craved a tasty home away from home typical Belgian meal, the range of Belgian beers (Stella, Leffe and Hoegaarden) was much appreciated and the Mussels & Fries feast was a big success.

Knit for the needy ! Ingrid Bockenmeyer works at the BNH Hospital in the "Community Relations Centre" and they have a social project in need of mobilization of a large number of people. The idea is to encourage people to knit 15 x 15 cm squares and to send them to the BNH Hospital before 16 October 2009. The squares will be sewn together to make warm blankets which will be send to the north of Thailand as from the end of October.
