 | Dear Belgians, members, friends and anyone interested in BCT-activities, Last Sunday 7 June an entirely new, enthusiastic BCT-team had its blast-off, holding its first committee meeting of 2009. After a long break in BCT-activities and at this fresh start, lots of things need to be dusted off and revived, discussed and decided, brushed and polished, and actions have to be taken. As we presented in the GA, we would like to build on the success stories of the previous team, but at the same time use this new start as an opportunity for improvement. Key in this, of course, is communication. We plan to inform you on a regular basis, starting with this first newsletter, then the next issue of Kramiek - due end of August - and from then onwards through regular newsletters and quarterly Kramiek's. We will share with you loads of ideas, but in order to make the perfect choice among them, creating the best possible events, we would like all your comments and suggestions. To get your valuable feedback we will attach a questionnaire to the next Kramiek.  BCT MEMBERSHIP | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
As announced on the GA, the annual membership fee will be kept at 500 baht per family. There is more good news however, the validity of this year's registration will actually last for 15 months, i.e.until the end of August 2010! From then onwards, the annual membership will run from September till August. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| MONTHLY GET TOGETHERS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On Friday 19 June we continue with the "BCT get togethers" held at DET 5. For July and August as well, we will keep this formula. As such everyone is cordially invited. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

For 18 September we are working on a Surprise Get Together. This one will be organized on a different location and will be the official opening of the new season! More details will follow in the next Kramiek, but already mark this date in your diary! Of course, the rest of the year you would obviously like to Get Together as well! Definitely, there will be these classic ‘every third Friday of the month' events, but with a new touch! We hope to organize the Get Togethers at different, special locations throughout Bangkok to cover the different areas where people live (Sukhumvit, Sathorn, etc). You might discover other areas of Bangkok, a new, cozy lounge bar or meet just around your own corner with the BCT crowd. | MUSSELS & FRIES FEAST - FESTIVAL MOULES & FRITES- MOSSELEN & FRIETJES FEEST | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
For all those who are longing for a real Belgian meal in the middle of Bangkok, there is a Mussels & Fries Feast!  More details will follow, but you might like to know already that we plan a bike trip in Minburi. This will be a fantastic event for everyone, an opportunity to discover a less known area of Bangkok. | Excursion to Koh Si chang | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A tiny, un-touristic island at just a mere 100km from Bangkok... doesn't that sound like we should all go and discover it? We are planning a day trip on 14 November. The next Kramiek will reveal more details! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sinterklaas / Saint-Nicolas | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
 Of course, the holy man will come and visit us again this year! He will be accompanied by his helpers Zwarte Piet and Père Fouettard. They have checked their diaries already and would arrive in Bangkok the weekend of 28-29 November. When exactly will depend on whether they will travel by plane or by boat this year ... Nevertheless, mark your agendas to welcome Saint Nicolas the last weekend of November! More information and announcements will follow in the next Kramiek and future Newsletters.
