BCT BANGKOK BIKING

Here are some more details regarding the biking trip in Minburi scheduled Saturday 24 October 2009. This will be a fantastic event for everyone, an opportunity to discover a less known area of Bangkok.

We depart from the Grand China Princess Hotel. The tour takes us through Bangkok's Chinatown, known as the most authentic one outside China. Immediately we cycle through narrow shopping alleys filled with trinkets, wallets, dolls, watches, earrings, school notebooks and much, much more.

We take the ferry to explore the other side of Bangkok: Minburi. It's quieter there. Not as busy as Bangkok. Hardly a foreigner to be seen. Amazing, how much differences you see in just three hours.
We take another ferry back and before you know it we are back at the Grand China Princess Hotel ...

Difficulty of the trip on a scale 1 (very easy) to 5 (very difficult), this trip is rated at 2.
When ?

Good to know ...

BNH "Let's Knit for the needy" project

The 2008 winter season in Thailand was exceptionally cold and many people without adequate clothing in Thailand were unable to keep warm and suffered throughout the cold spell. With this in mind, the Community Relations Centre (CRC) of BNH Hospital, Bangkok has launched the ‘Let’s Knit for the needy’ project to encourage everyone to knit small squares (6” x 6” : 15 cm x 15 cm) which will be sewn together to make warm patchwork blankets for donation before the beginning of the cold weather this 2009 winter.

Donated knitted squares can be of any colour, any style (simple garter stitch squares (knit-a-row, knit-a-row) produced on size 6 needles would be perfect). Anyone who isn’t sure how to knit should contact the BNH CRC team for details of when they can receive free tuition at the hospital. Complete squares can be dropped off anytime at the hospital reception or posted to the address shown below. Squares can be sent as soon as completed - the deadline for final donations is 16th October 2009.

September 2009 to further publicise the project. The aim is to complete at least 111 blankets to hand over to the needy in Thailand from the beginning of November onwards in celebration of BNH Hospital’s 111th anniversary.

So please take the initiative now and start knitting your square(s) to help make someone feel cared for and more comfortable this winter.

Thank you !
